This sun-dried seeded pepper bears the name of its ancient city, Aleppo, in Syria, which was once considered the culinary capital of the Eastern Mediterranean.  Also referred to as the Halaby pepper, Aleppo has a fruity, earthy, and warm flavor.  It's moderately hot and widely used in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine.  This crushed chili can be sprinkled on pizzas, salads, potatoes, deviled eggs or any food you prefer.  Aleppo chilis also taste great on grilled meats such as chickemn, steak and pork.
